Love Of God Lyrics
Artist: MercyMe
Album: Spoken For
Track: Love Of God
The love of God is greater far
Than tongue or pen can ever tell
It goes beyond the highest star
And reaches to the lowest hell
The guilty pair, bowed down with care
God gave His Son to win
His erring child He reconciled
And pardoned from his sin
Could we with ink the ocean fill
And were the skies of parchment made
Were every stalk on earth a quill
And every man a scribe by trade
To write the love of God above
Would drain the ocean dry
Nor could the scroll contain the whole
Though stretched from sky to sky
Hallelujah (3x)
O love of God, how rich and pure!
How measureless and strong!
It shall forevermore endure
The saints’ and angels’ song

I think I just did through your comment! Thank you, Ellen! That’s beautiful. I love this song – I heard it at a friend’s wedding recently – and posted it because I would really like to post something of substance and chat to you all but I am chained to my computer writing reports.
Reports are due tomorrow and I have about another 30 to write. It’s now 11:40 pm. I’m not stressed. Plodding along. Just wishing I could chat. Soon…

Yes, I love that hymn too.
All the best with those pesky reports…

Thanks for reminding me about this beautiful hymn – we do blended worship at our church and this is going on the list.
Praying for you missm.

This posting of hymns. What a great thing. John Dekker does it a lot too. I need to start attending a church where they actually sing them. Thank you for this one!

Just quietly, ish, I didn’t actually know this was a hymn: we’ve been singing a contemporary version. My church sings revamped hymns. It’s rare for us to get an oldie.

Hi Steve,
All is well, just SUPER busy. Did you guys survive the storms ok? Newcastle sure copped it!

mmmmm it was all pretty devastating 3 families in my church lost houses and cars.. 2 just lost cars. Some are still cut off by flood waters.
Still, many had it worse. My daughter had to walk through waist high water over a storm water drain because her work wanted her to mail something at the height of the storm! That could have been fatal!
A few thousand cars were written off.
Its been fun! Thanks for your thoughts.

A friend of mine was cut off from her house. She was going home and was wading through waist deep water and decided to go no further. She didn’t even get to her house. She came and spent the weekend in Sydney. It’s pretty freaky weather!
I was out on the Friday night in Sydney and some friends and I got a flat tyre as we were driving home. We had to change it in the main street in the rain and the street very quickly became an icy river! That’s the worst that happened to us though. Oh, and a branch fell from a tree but we haven’t lost anything.
I’m glad your daughter was ok!

Miss M.,
Glad to hear you’re ok. We sure don’t get good international news coverage here. I’m going to go on-line and see what I can see about what you folks down under have been going through. I’m praying for you right now and for your friends who have suffered loss. Blessings…
